I would like to share a new novel with you The Algorithm Will See You Now: A Novel by JL Lycette

The Algorithm is look into the future, showing the dark sides of Computerized Medicine. We all know human behavior has a good and bad influence. This novel does have a darker side but not in a bad way. sci-fi/medical thriller sharing the importance of maintaining control & recognizing the limits of AI, particularly for healthcare. The Author has composed complex characters & interesting subplots that reinforce the themes of accounting for individual circumstances and \ beating the odds, sharing the efficiency of advanced technology in an often-overwhelmed hospital system. Which will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the novel.

I liked learning about the social justice issues which Charlie and I can study in our homeschool classes. Although this book is more for adults, I could see older teens or college students learning things from the story that they can put into their own lives. I did ask David to let me read the story to him as well and after the first couple chapters he was done and said he didn’t want to hear more as he was bored with the women and the story didn’t seem real to him which wasn’t how I felt. But again everyone has their own opinions, and this shouldn’t stop you from check out the book on your own.

About:

“I’ve been waiting for a book like this: a full-frontal assault on the dangers of artificial intelligence and the failures of our mangled health care system, all wrapped up in a clever, ripping thriller. Jennifer Lycette is an author to watch.” –Rob Hart, author of The Paradox Hotel

The most dangerous lies are the ones that use the truth to sell themselves.

Medical treatment determined by artificial intelligence could do more than make Hope Kestrel’s career. It could revolutionize healthcare.

What the Seattle surgeon doesn’t know is the AI has a hidden fatal flaw, and the people covering it up will stop at nothing to dominate the world’s healthcare-and its profits. Soon, Hope is made the scapegoat for a patient’s death, and only Jacie Stone, a gifted intern with a knack for computer Science, is willing to help search for the truth.

But her patient’s death is only the tip of the conspiracy’s iceberg. The Director, Marah Maddox, is plotting a use for the AI far outside the ethical bounds of her physician’s oath. A staggering plan capable of reducing human lives to their DNA code, redefining the concepts of sickness and health, and delivering the power of life and death decisions into the hands of those behind the AI.

Even if the algorithm accidentally discards some who are treatable in order to make that happen…

JL Lycette’s powerful, near-future thriller, The Algorithm Will See You Now, is perfect for fans of Blake Crouch and Rob Hart.
