The Cornerstone Challenge Day Seven: Content that Challenges a Perception

In The Cornerstone Challenge Day Seven- Content That Challenges A Perception I wanted to address Homeschooling. I was told when we begin that Charlie would be missing Socilization but that isn’t true.

For Charlie and I we are busier now than when we was in Public School. For PE Charlie is on a Basketball Team. Were taking a Art and Geneology course and go on Field Trips with the teacher.

Were going to join a Homeschooling group or several in our area were Charlie will be able to make friends. Then there is the kids in our neighborhood Charlie plays with.

As well as the Field Trips we attend on our local Homeschooling Days when Charlie is around a lot of kids. Even though everyone thought Charlie would be stuck in our home and not know how to behave around other children and adults this isn’t the case.

Charlie is running two businesses, helping children under him, working with Seniors and playing with the children in our neighborhood and I belive he is getting more Socilzation now than he did in school.

Our family is happier and closer than ever and we have made lots of new friends and also gone places we would never have been able to attend in Charlie was in Public School.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates

  1. WOW! That’s a LOT of activity!! I completely agree with you, though. Homeschoolers don’t miss out on socialization. And not only that, socialization isn’t guaranteed just because someone goes to public school.
