As we move through the day, I wanted to welcome you to the reset hour which I don’t about you but as a mom I need a reset hour more than most people. Or at least it seems that way. Come and celebrate the The Reset Hour with me.
Normally, this is the hour where I try to “catch up.” But today, I didn’t. Instead, I reset — not the house, but myself. I lit a candle and I put on soft music which of course includes my spirit animal Jelly Roll. I sat with my Milo’s Swet Tea and let the morning be what it was: chaotic, human, survivable.
And in that stillness, I heard the quiet truth I’d been too busy to notice: “You don’t have to earn rest.” So, I took the rest as I watched Hardcastle and McCormick for an hour. Which means my rest didn’t last long but it was long enough. The day might not have been perfect, but it was enough.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
