Unique Holidays: September 13, 2021

Welcome to our series sharing Unique Holidays: September 13, 2021. I would like to ask you to take a look at the Holidays being celebrated today. Which one would you want to celebrate and why? Charlie and I are passing on both while David says he will have a Crab Basket with a Cream Filled Donut for dessert.

International Crab Fest Day

If you like Crabs which I don’t. Then you should grab your Crab baskets and head to the Seashore. Which isn’t possible for my family because we don’t live by the Seashore. Do you? Instead if we wanted Crab we would go to the local Seafood store for a mess of Crabs. Then we would get out the Steamer which I don’t have and start boiling the Water. Don’t forget to melt Butter. .Ps  Don’t forget the bibs.

There’s two things we know. First, Crabs can be found all over the world. Isn’t that just wonderful!? Second, Crabs are one of the sweetest, most popular of all Seafoods. The fact that over 1.5 million tons of Crabs are consumed worldwide every year is a testimonial to their Culinary popularity. While Steaming Crabs is the most popular, you can bake, boil, grill, or make Crab in a wide variety of recipes. In other words, “have it your way!”

There are thousands of varieties of Crabs and they range in size from 5 inches across, to over 13 feet! Fishermen have a second reason to celebrate Crabs today. They use the little Crabs to catch Lunker Bass and other Fish. As for the largest varieties, well let’s just say they’d make one heck of a Crab Fest!

If you are going to Steam Crabs yourself, may we suggest: How to Steam Crabs

History and Origin of International Crab Fest Day:

International Crab Fest was created in 2018 by Bob Matthews, Author of Holiday Insights to recognize and celebrate one of the world’s most popular Seafoods.

A date in September was chosen, because the Weather cools in September. Clam and Seafood bakes become popular during the late summer to fall season.

National Cream Filled Donut Day is a Sugary, sweet day. Dontcha just love special Holidays like today!? Sure, you were watching your Weight. Then, along comes a fun Holiday that is just packed with Calorie and Carbs. And, that special Holiday encourages you to eat one of your favorite breakfast treats…. Cream Filled Donuts.

Although this is one Holiday I don’t want to partipate in because just like Charlie I don’t care for Cream-Filled Donuts although David says he wouldn’t mind having one or even several. How about you? Would you like a Cream Filled Donut?

There is not shortage of food related “Holidays”. Were certainly glad that someone chose to create a day for Cream Filled Donuts a special treat.

The most popular Cream Filled Donuts are Chocolate Cream or Vanilla Cream.  Did you know there is even a Banana Cream Filled Donut? Which i shard to find. Whatever flavor of Cream Filled Donut is your favorite, make sure the day does not go by, without having one or two.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
