Welcome to August 1st, 2025. In the Would You Rather Challenge we’ve finished questions in the following sections Hard to Choose, Make Believe which I enjoyed and now we move on to Hobbies & Activities.

Being back to school time this section may give you ideas to use in your #Homeschool Classroom. The questions come from the children’s book The Ultimate Book of Would You Rather Questions: 1001 Family-Friendly Challenges for Kids, Teens and Adults by Kimberly McLeod (Author).

Would You Rather be a champion at Chess or the best video game player for one game? Why? I’m not allowed to play Video Games because my nephew David M. banned me when he was a child because no, matter what we played I always got us killed. Not only that my daughter banned me from riding a 2 wheel bike because I always got hurt.

Times have changed and I’ve ridden my 3 wheel bike and not gotten hurt. I’ve played video games with Charlie and yes, I did suck but I tried and that is what counts isn’t it? I would choose to be a champion at Chess because David’s dad and his brother Mike play.

David does some as well and Charlie has always wanted to learn to play Chess. I would be able to teach Charlie giving us one-on-one time together which is fun way to spend mom-son time together. Then David and I would also be able play Chess together instead of always watching TV or being on our phones and not talking.

David said this was a hard choice because if he learned to be the best video player at one game Charlie and his friends play he would be able to play with them. But David also said it would be nice to be a champion at Chess and actually beat his brother at something for once in his life.

Charlie said he would like to be the best video game player for one game which he is good at the games he plays so I think this would be wasting his talents. After discussing both Charlie decided instead of being the best video player for one game he would like to be a champion at Chess.Ch

Charlie said he would be able to play with his Dad and his Uncle Mike. Before you ask what about me remember I’m a girl I don’t play Chess Charlie said. LOL Boys will be boys and mom’s are just mom’s. It’s a good thing I love my son isn’t it?

Would You Rather be a champion at Chess or the best video game player for one game?

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
