More times than not Charlie surprises me with the things he decides to do and how Bradley follows along. Before they got the job at the Airport David, Charlie and Bradley had there Honey-Do company. Then Charlie and Bradley decided to add power washing to there services.
Then Charlie decided they would add auto detailing to there company because Charlie is always cleaning not only his car but David’s and my mother in laws to. I thought I would share how Charlie and Bradley are building a small mobile auto detailing business using Mothers Auto Care products.
Not every teen business starts with a big plan. Sometimes it starts with a car that needs cleaning and a simple idea: “We can do this better ourselves.” Or for a need for money there parents don’t want to give them. Or because they are bored and need something to do. I wish I had thought of this when Charlie was #Homeschooling because he could have taken a automotive class.
That was then and this is now and Charlie and Bradley have been working together on learning the basics of auto detailing, through books and researching on the internet and it quickly turned into something more structured. Not just washing cars, but understanding how to clean, restore, and maintain vehicles properly.
The Mothers products became part of that learning process because they’re easy to understand, consistent, and reliable enough for beginners who are still figuring things out. What matters most here isn’t just the cleaning itself — it’s what happens while doing the work.
Learning how to take something messy and make it look cared for. Learning how to notice details most people overlook. Learning how to finish a job properly instead of rushing through it. There’s something important about teens learning skills like this. It builds confidence in a way that screens never really do. It also creates a sense of ownership — over their work, their time, and even their goals.
What started as a simple idea is slowly turning into something real: a small service, a learning experience, and a way for them to understand what responsibility actually looks like. And in the middle of all of it, car care becomes less about the car — and more about the people doing the work.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates

Father’s Day Car Care Gift Guide: Mothers Automotive Essentials for the Dad Who Loves His Car
Some dads don’t want random gifts.
They want something practical. Something they can actually use. Something that fits into the things they already care about.
For dads who take pride in their vehicles, car care gifts are one of those rare categories that actually make sense.
This year, the Mothers Automotive lineup stands out as a strong option for Father’s Day gifting because it covers the full experience — washing, detailing, protecting, and maintaining a vehicle in a way that feels complete rather than scattered.
The California Gold Ceramic Wash & Wax is one of those products that fits right into regular maintenance routines. It’s designed to help keep a clean finish between deeper cleanings.
The Ceramic Spray Wax offers a quick way to refresh and protect surfaces without turning it into an all-day project.
For those who like restoring and improving the look of their vehicle, the Paint Correction product adds a deeper level of care.
And the supporting tools — wash bucket, microfiber mitts, and premium towels — turn the entire process into a system instead of random supplies.
What makes these especially meaningful for Father’s Day is that they don’t just sit in a box. They get used. They become part of weekends, routines, and sometimes even shared family time.
It’s not just a gift — it’s something that gets worked into real life.

Summer Car Care Challenge: A Simple Family Activity That Gets Kids Off Electronics
Summer has a way of filling the house with noise, screens, and routines that sometimes blur together.
So finding simple activities that actually pull kids outside and into something hands-on matters more than we realize.
One of the easiest things we’ve found this season is car care.
It doesn’t require a big plan or expensive setup. Just a driveway, a bucket, a few cleaning tools, and a vehicle that needs a little attention.
What makes it work isn’t the car — it’s the process.
Washing, wiping, drying, and detailing becomes a shared activity. Kids can help. Teens can take responsibility. Adults can guide without needing to control every step.
And somewhere in the middle of it, something important happens — conversations start, time slows down, and screens stop being the center of attention.
Using the Mothers Automotive products made this even easier because everything feels straightforward and beginner-friendly. There’s no confusion about what goes where or how things are used. That matters when you’re turning a chore into a family activity.
By the end, you don’t just have a cleaner car. You have time spent together doing something real.
And that’s what summer is supposed to feel like.

Every Car Needs These Basics: Microfiber Towels, Wash Mitts & Cleaning Tools from Mothers Automotive
Every routine starts with the basics.
When it comes to car care, those basics are the tools that make everything else possible — towels that actually absorb properly, mitts that don’t scratch surfaces, and buckets that keep everything organized.
The Mothers microfiber towels, wash mitt, and bucket system fall into that category of simple tools that make a noticeable difference without needing explanation.
These are the kinds of items that don’t get talked about enough because they aren’t flashy. But they matter more than people realize, especially when you’re teaching someone new how to take care of a vehicle properly.
Charlie and Bradley quickly learned that good tools change the entire process. It’s not just about cleaning — it’s about doing the job right the first time so you don’t have to go back and fix mistakes later.
For families, beginners, or anyone just getting into car care, starting with the right basics makes everything easier.
And once those basics are in place, everything else becomes smoother, faster, and more enjoyable.

What Our Family Learned Using Mothers Automotive Products This Week
By the end of the week, you can usually tell whether something was just “content” or whether it actually became part of real life.
This week felt like the second one.
What started as a simple set of car care products turned into something much more layered in our home. Between Father’s Day gifting ideas, summer family activities, and Charlie and Bradley learning how to build something of their own, everything overlapped in a way we didn’t fully plan.
The car care itself mattered, of course. The vehicles looked better, felt better, and were easier to maintain.
But what stood out more was everything happening around it.
Teens learning how to work.
Family time happening outside instead of inside on devices.
Small moments of responsibility turning into confidence.
That’s what made this week different.
The Mothers Automotive products became part of a routine, not just a review. And that’s usually the point where something shifts from “we tested this” to “this actually fits our life.”
Father’s Day is often about finding something meaningful.
This year, it felt like we found something that worked for more than just a holiday — something that fits into everyday life, summer routines, and even future goals for the kids.
And that’s what made it worth sharing.
