🧦 City Trends Cheapest Sock + Basics Run (Budget Life Find)

Fashion Shopping

For my family there are days when the little things matter more than anything else, and today was one of those days where we found ourselves just needing the basics. Not the fancy stuff. Not the name brands. Just real-life essentials that keep everything moving. That’s where City Trends comes in.

If you’ve ever walked through their aisles, you already know—it’s not about luxury, it’s about function. It’s about stretching a dollar without feeling like you’re sacrificing everything in your cart. From clothes to decorations they keep us on a budget.

One of the biggest surprises David and I’ve found at City Trends is the socks. Honestly, the kind of thing you don’t think about until you suddenly need them. And when you find them at a price that actually makes sense, you grab them and don’t think twice. Kids, teens, adults—it doesn’t matter. Socks disappear in every household like they’re being eaten by the laundry machine.

We also looked through basic tees and everyday wear. The kind of clothing that isn’t meant to impress anyone but is meant to get worn, washed, and worn again. There’s something comforting about that kind of shopping. It reminds you that not everything has to be expensive to be useful.

Even household restock items caught our attention. Small bins, simple storage pieces, and everyday items that make home life just a little easier to manage. Nothing dramatic. Just helpful. We even found some fun jewelry for Charlie that had the name King and a crown on it showcasing Charlie’s nickname with a hat David bought Charlie.

This wasn’t a “haul for show” kind of trip. It was a “keep the house running smoothly” kind of trip. And honestly, those are the most important ones. Now we all have enough socks for a couple weeks and we didn’t have to break the bank to get the items we needed.

Charlie and David were excited to find out they have a Law A Way so they can purchase a couple shirts and hoodies they found. When they do there is a couple pictures I would like to have for the living room and a water bottle that tracks the water I’ve drank for me.

I wish City Trends had been open when Charlie was in school because the lay a way would have make Back to School Shopping so much easier. This is why you will find City Trends not only in our Summer Gift Guide but also in our Father’s Day Gift Guide and our Back to School Gift Guide.
