I don’t know about your home but David’s gets off between 1 and 5 pm every day. On his way home sometimes he stops on Denton Highway to give Plasma. Then stops for a Beer before coming on home. Once he gets inside after petting Bear and Pheobie he checks on Gerald who is on the couch.
Then comes upstairs to check on Charlie and me. David ask me what’s for dinner so he can cook after relaxing for a bit with his Beer and tv. David then begins dinner and we all know its ⭐ 5:00 PM — David Walks In & The Whole House Shifts.
Once dinner is done David will load the dishwasher sometimes and wipe the counters off and mop if it needs it. Then he begins to gather things for work. David comes upstairs and brings me a glass or Milo’s Sweet Tea and dinner.
Because in our home five o’clock hits and the rhythm of this house changes like someone flipped a breaker.
I”, so product ‘m so proud of David when he walks in from the airport — after being up since 3 AM — grabs a beer, and instantly becomes Mom, Chef, Driver, Cleaner, Dog Wrangler, and Chaos Coordinator all at once. I wouldn’t be who I am without David, and neither would. Charlie, Gerald and the dogs.
I try to help and he hits me with the same line every time:
“No. I got it.”
So I stay in my lane — the Queen lane — because he said what he said.
🍝 Dinner Tonight
Granny Sherry’s likes tp shop at Sam’s Club for groceiers and a lot of times she purchases food no, one in her home likes Including a bag of frozen Meatballs — which we had no, qualms taking and trying for dinner this evening. This bag of Meatballs will make several including tonight’s meal which I asked David for Plain Meatballs with Idaho Instant Mashed Potato’s and Mexican Corn.
Charlie and David are having Bar B Que Meatballs using BBQ Sauce left over from the Sandwiches David picked up at Risckys. Gerald said he is going to eat the left-over Ribs we had. This will leave Meatballs for Bradley if he shows up if not lunch for Charlie and me tomorrow since Gerald will not be here.
Tonight’s version:
- Marinara meatballs (David’s favorite way to cook them)
- Idaho Instant mashed potatoes
- Bread & butter (non‑negotiable)
- A veggie… maybe… maybe not Left-over Mexican Corn if its still in the Icebox)
- Beer for David, Milo’s Sweet Tea for me, Sonic Soda for C and Water from the Water Fountain for Gerald.
The Meatballs are the star of the show, and honestly, they deserve it.
🏚️ House Roll Call at 5 PM
- JR → on the couch watching Westerns like he owns the place
- C → gaming, walking, riding his bike, showering for the 6th time, or asleep — depends on the minute
- Dogs → sometimes in the kitchen, sometimes not, pacing like they’re waiting for the HOA meeting
- Me → not on the couch (JR owns it), in my room in my bed or my Mamazing Chair doing my games and Swagbucks
- David → running the whole house like a one‑man army
🎪 My Circus, My Monkeys
The circle remains unbroken. This is my circus. These are my monkeys. At least today.
And no — I didn’t yell at anyone or kill anyone. We’re calling that a win.

🍝 Sam’s Club Marinara Meatballs (David’s Way)
Ingredients:
– 1 bag Sam’s Club frozen meatballs
– 1 jar marinara sauce
– 1 cup beef broth or water
– Instant mashed potatoes
– Bread & butter
– Optional veggie
Instructions:
1. Pour meatballs into a skillet or pot.
2. Add marinara sauce until coated.
3. Add a splash of broth so nothing sticks.
4. Simmer 15–20 minutes on medium.
5. Make instant potatoes.
6. Serve with bread & butter and call it dinner.
