Throwback to When Mornings Were Hard… and Today Proved Nothing Has Changed

Ultimate Blog Challenge

I don’t know about you but today for me “THE DAY WENT TO HELL” in a handbasket more than once. Being Throwback Thursday, I wanted to share a post When Mornings Were Hard… and Today Proved Nothing Has Changed

I don’t know about you but today tried me in ways only a Thursday can. You ever have one of those mornings where the alarm goes off, but the children and teens in your house act like they’ve never heard a sound in their life? That was us. Every single one of us. Throwback Thursday turned into “Throw the whole day away Thursday” before the sun even came up.

I stood there in the hallway this morning thinking, “Lord, this cannot be my life again.” But it was. Husband not getting up. Teens pretending they’re allergic to daylight. Everyone moving slower than cold syrup. And me? I’m standing there with my hair half up, half down, water in hand, trying to decide if I should laugh, cry, or just walk out the front door and start a new life in another state. If only I could.

Throwback to when mornings were hard… and now they’re still hard. The only difference is the shoe sizes by the door and the number of people in my home. Which leads to more chaos and screaming more times than not.

I don’t know about you, but I had big plans for today. Throwback Thursday content. Cute posts. Maybe even a picture or two if the universe was kind. But the universe said, “No ma’am, not today.” So, nothing got posted. Nothing got shared. And by 5:15 PM I was ready to declare the whole day a loss.

But here’s the thing: real life doesn’t care about your content calendar. Real life doesn’t care about your SEO goals. Real life doesn’t care that you’re trying to run a business, build a brand, and keep a family alive on the same day. Real life shows up messy, loud, late, and uncooperative — and that’s exactly why people follow me. Because this is the truth. This is the porch. This is the lived-in, chaotic, faith-rooted life we’re all trying to survive.

So here’s my Throwback Thursday: Throwback to every morning I thought I wasn’t going to make it… and I still did. Throwback to every day that went sideways… and somehow still ended with grace. Throwback to every season where I thought I was failing… but I was actually learning how strong I really was.

If your Thursday went to hell in a handbasket too, pull up a chair. You’re not alone. We’re ending this day with humor, honesty, and whatever energy we’ve got left. And if all you did today was survive, that’s enough. That counts. That matters.

Throwback Thursday might have started late, but it’s ending real — and that’s the kind of content that actually connects. That is why the circle remains unbroken and this is my circus and these are my Monkes.

Thank you,
