🍱 What We’re Having for Lunch Today: Turkey, Ham, Cheese Sandwiches and a Quick Midday Break

David was off today due to a mishap with my brother who went to Oklahoma but didn’t tell anyone. I thought I would share 🍱 what I had for lunch today: A Oven Roasted Turkey Breast , and Black Forest Ham, Cheddar Cheese Sandwiches as I took a quick midday break with David while he cleaned the house.

This made lunch today one of those in-between kinds of meals. I usually use a Croissant for but we didn’t have any so I used Light Bread ie White Bread and Mayo just as David did. Not planned out. Not fancy. Just whatever we could throw together while the day was already moving.

When we have bacon in the fridge, I’ll toss that on my sandwich too, but today it was just turkey, ham, and cheese. Simple and enough. As for David he doesn’t use bacon when making him a sandwich and he prefers Bologna which is cheaper or Salami like my brother Gerald.

I don’t do pickles on my sandwich. Never have. Pickles are for tuna salad, chicken salad, and sometimes potato salad if it’s done right. That’s it for me. David, on the other hand, will put pickles on just about anything. He had his sandwich with pickles on the side like he always does, and he’s happy that way.

Charlie was home today since he’s off, so he made his own sandwich with mayo and mustard. He’ll eat pickles sometimes, but not really with his sandwich either. There was no, cheese for Charlie because sometimes it bothers him

With Gerald being gone today it was just the three of us in and out of the kitchen while everything else was going on—David cleaning, me working, Charlie just enjoying a day off playing his video games before everything picks back up again.

I had a few chips on the side, nothing big. If I grab chips, it’s usually Cheetos or Lay’s barbecue, but even that depends on the day. Most of the time I’m not a big chip eater anyway. Although Charlie and David would live on Chips if they could.

And that’s really what lunch looked like today—quick sandwiches, everyone doing their own thing, and life carrying on in the middle of it. Nothing complicated. Just real life in the middle of a busy day. While trying to stay on a budget which is hard with the price of groceries.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
