Postcards From Wonderland: 20 postcards featuring John Tenniel’s classic illustrations from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

The Mommies Reviews

Ever since I was a little child, I’ve been fascinated with Alice in Wonderland. My favorite has always been the White Rabbit. There’s just something about him— that intrigues me including his saying “I’m Late! I’m Late! For a Very Important Date”. Do you remember that quote or something else?

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve started to notice something funny. Working on this blog sometimes feels a lot like falling down that same old rabbit hole. One idea turns into another, and before I know it, I’m deep into writing, planning, and creating in a way that feels just as unpredictable as Wonderland itself.

So I was excited when I received Postcards From Wonderland: 20 postcards featuring John Tenniel’s classic illustrations from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland which fits in perfectly with the Tea set my sister gave me which I will use to decorate my shelf with.

This postcard set is inspired by the classic illustrations of John Tenniel, and it includes twenty postcards taken straight from the world of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Each one feels like a small piece of the story you can hold in your hand.

What I love most is that these aren’t just postcards you would send and forget about. They are beautiful enough to frame. You could use them as art in your home, especially in a reading corner or office space. They also look just as lovely kept inside the booklet, almost like a decorative keepsake sitting on a shelf.

Each postcard has its own illustration and a familiar quote from the story. Some of them instantly take you back, like “Drink Me,” the Queen of Hearts declaring “Off with their heads,” and the famous Mad Hatter riddle about why a raven is like a writing desk. Every card feels like a little doorway back into Wonderland.

I also shared the postcards with Charlie, and he thought they were really neat. He said he had never seen anything like them before. David liked them too and immediately tried to claim a couple for himself, but that did not happen. This is one of those things I am definitely keeping for myself.

What surprised me most was the size. It’s just a little bigger than an index card, which makes it easy to carry or store. You could tuck it into a purse, a backpack, or keep it on a desk for inspiration. I also think it would work beautifully for creative writing, especially for students who need a simple prompt to get their imagination going. You could look at a card and build a story from it, or use it as a journaling idea.

Because of that, I will be including this in our Back to School Gift Guide. It’s one of those quiet little tools that encourages creativity without feeling like schoolwork. In the end, this postcard set feels like more than stationery. It feels like a reminder of imagination, childhood wonder, and that strange little world where nothing quite makes sense—but somehow still feels right.
