Which means we would have to choose between Dinner and the Movies. Since Alao Drafthouse celebrates Mothers in May we could go here for dinner and then I could see a movie. Especially with them hosting Mama Mia Brunch. Would you like to go with us?

An independent, single mother who owns a small hotel on an idyllic Greek island, Donna (Streep) is about to let go of Sophie (Seyfried), the spirited daughter she’s raised alone. For Sophie’s wedding, Donna has invited her two lifelong best girlfriends – practical and no-nonsense Rosie (Julie Walters) and wealthy, multi-divorcee Tanya (Christine Baranski ) – from her one-time backing band, Donna and the Dynamos.

But Sophie has secretly invited three guests of her own. On a quest to find the identity of her father to walk her down the aisle, she brings back three men from Donna’s past to the Mediterranean paradise they visited 20 years earlier.

Over 24 chaotic, magical hours, new love will bloom and old romances will be rekindled on this lush island full of possibilities.

TOP GUN DOUBLE FEATURE

FEEL THE NEED FOR DOUBLE THE SPEED

About TOP GUN
1986 / 110 minutes

In the role that made him one of the world’s biggest stars, Tom Cruise rides into the Danger Zone in this smash-hit film that defined the modern-day blockbuster. Cruise plays Maverick, a hotshot flyer who is sent to the Navy’s prestigious Top Gun program. But in order to become the “best of the best,” he’ll need the help of his wingman Goose (Anthony Edwards) and newfound love (Kelly McGillis). Co-starring Val Kilmer, this high-octane hit will take your breath away!

About TOP GUN: MAVERICK
2022 / 131 minutes

Ride into the danger zone again with Maverick in the film that “saved Hollywood.” After more than 30 years of flying circles around the competition, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell is back where it all began – the TOPGUN school. He’s been called back to lead a new generation of the Navy’s top 1%, including Goose’s son, call sign Rooster (Miles Teller). Seems like a missed opportunity not calling him Gosling, but Rooster is cool too. With a dangerous mission ahead and the ghosts of his past on his six, does Maverick still feel the need for speed?

The original set the world on fire with its high-octane action and glistening volleyball scene, and the sequel has more bravado and explosive dogfights than you can shake a MiG at. So grab your wingman and hold onto your coffee – it’s time to buzz the tower.
