Austin, TX — January 27, 2019 — Austin-based cinema-eatery Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is offering guests in each of its 41 locations a cinematically sweet way to celebrate Valentine’s Day, whether as a couples night, a singles solidarity night, or if you’re just taking yourself out – by purchasing a totally open-ended 60-character message to run on the big screen, with proceeds benefiting relief efforts in Puerto Rico and Australia.

“These love notes aren’t just for couples – last year one guy even sent a love note to himself,” says Tim League, founder and CEO of Alamo Drafthouse. “I’m happy we’re able to harness the power of love to help two very good causes.”

From now until Friday, February 7th, guests who purchase advance tickets for screenings on February 14th have the option to purchase a $5 Love Note, with funds raised being split between UNIDOS Disaster Relief & Recovery Program to Support Puerto Rico and Global Giving’s Australia Wildfire Relief Fund). The company’s Alamo Gives initiative will also contribute $5,000 to each cause.

Guests who purchase a Love Note will also be entered into a sweepstakes where they could win the ultimate Valentine’s Day gift – a free year of movies via Alamo Drafthouse’s Season Pass membership program for them and their friend or sweetheart.

Alamo Drafthouse’s creative team will also work with the winner to have the prize delivered in-person by any costumed movie character they choose.
