All-Time-Favorite Recipes from Texas Cooks (Regional Cooks)

David’s mom went to a couple Garage Sales this weekend and while there she picked up a copy of All-Time-Favorite Recipes from Texas Cooks (Regional Cooks) this cook for Charlie to use in his Homeschool Cooking Class.

I sat down this morning to thumb through the cookbook and loved how they included stories with the recipes. This is a hard bound cookbook with rings that makes it easy and close. The cover can be wiped off from the spills and messes that can happen when cooking in the kitchen. Especially when children and husbands are involved.

All-Time-Favorite Recipes from Texas Cooks is the brainchild of two neighbors from Ohio. They were raising small children at the time but wanted to stay at home with their kids. Which is how Gooseberry Patch was created. Just like I wanted to do with my website. If you are wanting to do the same thing in your home, then you should check out their story as soon as possible.

My sister has been wanting the Ole Fasion Cinnamin Rolls our school used to prepare. I can’t wait to share Buttermilk Cinnamon Rolls recipe from inside this cookbook with her that she can make with my niece and nephew. For sharing this cookbook with her she is going to owe me a Cinamon Roll or three. LOL

As a child I remember at my grandfather’s visitation a neighbor brought over a Enchilada Casserole and there is a recipe in her I would like to make for dinner one night. Only problem is I am not sure Charlie would eat it. Which is fine because I would have leftovers for lunch. Before you ask me yes, I do eat leftovers all the time. Do you?

I wonder if these Deep South Chicken & Dumplings taste as good as my grandmothers. I don’t know but I think the next time its cold I will make them which will be my first time ever making Chicken & Dumplings. How about you? Can you believe there wasn’t a recipe for Chicken Fried Steak. Crazy…

In the back of the cookbook is recipes from Cooks around Texas and there was even a recipe for a Hearty Lima Bean casserole from Fort Worth, Texas my mother might have liked. Which I believe I will pass on. How about you. Do you like Lima Beans? Burleson, Texas which is a hop, skip and jump from me. How about Southlake, Texas?
