Content that inspires: Charlie Cates

Welcome to September I ‘ve joined a new challenge called The Cornerstone Content Blog Challenge which also takes place multiple times of the year. Each day we will have a prompt to write about for this morning we was to share Content that inspires: Charlie Cates.

The Cornerstone Content Blog Challenge hosted by Martha DeMeo and Jeanine Byers. I struggled with this Challenge a lot and couldn’t decide if I was going to move forward with this or not.

When the prompt asked us to share content that inspires I knew the Lord was talking to me. As I thought about what I wanted to share many people came to mind.

I settled on my son Charlie. Charlie has always struggled in school and even ended up being Bullied and trying to kill himself. But he doesn’t give up he puts one foot in front of the other and moves on.

This last week we was preparing Charlie’s lesson for Homeschooling this year. As we was talking Charlie asked me if we could start with 5th grade even though he is in 7th.

I asked Charlie why and he said he thought it would be easier to redo things he should have learned in public school. I reminded charlie he would be two years behind his friends.

Charlie didn’t bat a eye and said it’s okay mom the Lord will take care of us and we can get through all three years if we put out mind to what we are doing.

On Monday Charlie even asked to add a Art class to his schedule as he loves Drawing. I am telling you this mom is so proud of Charlie. He has even inspired me to do this challenge on both of my blogs.

I would like to thank the Lord for my son and the ladies who put together this challenge. As well as my husband for allowing me to remain at home to teach my son.

  1. That’s wonderful, Glenda! My son and did some catching up work a few times when I was homeschooling him. But each time, it was my idea. 🙂 So I admire your son for having the wisdom to ask to do so. It is inspiring me to consider whether there is anything in my world that I need to go back and re-do, before moving forward.

  2. Charlie I love you for your great additude and willing to do what has to be done to get ahead. I know you will excel and go far in your dreams. Glenda, I’m so glad you took the cue and joined the challenge, not only for you but for Charlie too! BTW he is getting so tall! Lia says hi C!
