Day 20 Song of the Day Challenge: A song that has many meanings to me

I’m sharing a post for the Song of the Day Challenge. The prompt for Day 20. Yes, its the 24th. I’m behind but what can I say other than I’m trying. That counts doesn’t it?

The prompt for this mornings song was to share a song that has many meanings to me. Lordy, Lordy what in the world would I share and why?? I needed help with this one and there wasn’t anyone to ask.

I sat in front of the computer looking at the screen for a answer to appear and no, answers feel down from the sky. I walked away and said we will skip this day.

I thought about that and how skipping a day would make me fill and I knew I would feel like a failure. Instead I decided I would share a song that I like to listen to when I am struggling.

On The Road Again from Willie Nelson because this is a week when I have wanted to get in the car and just drive. I felt like I needed to go and see my brother.

Then I thought I needed sometime to myself and if I rented a car I could get into the car and just drive and head west young man onto Route 66 and just be On The Road Again.

Which I couldn’t do as I have Charlie and David is working and David can’t take off. But one day I will do like Willie and you will see me On The Road Again.

On the Road Again” is a song written and made famous by American country music singer Willie Nelson.

The song, about life on tour, came about when the executive producer of the film Honeysuckle Rose approached Nelson about writing the song for the film’s soundtrack.[1] “On the Road Again” became Nelson’s 9th Country & Western No. 1 hit overall (6th as a solo recording act) in November 1980, and became one of Nelson’s most recognizable tunes. In addition, the song reached No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100, and No. 7 on the Adult Contemporary chart.[2] It was his biggest pop hit to that time and won him a Grammy Award for Best Country Song a year later.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
