National Vanilla Pudding Day

national vanilla pudding day | Foodimentary - National Food Holidays

Today is National Vanilla Pudding Day! The delicious, Pudding we know and love has been around since the 19th century. Culinary historians agree that our modern recipe evolved from Custards, which date back to Ancient Rome.

Jell-O introduced its first line of instant pudding in the 1950s. The advertising campaign announcing the new product promoted it as a “busy-day dessert.” Check out one of the original commercial spots!

To celebrate National Vanilla Pudding Day, Charlie and I are thinking about making Homemade Vanilla Pudding from scratch. The bad part though is David is at work and Charlie wouldn’t eat the Pudding with me. So I guess we will not do this today.

But later in the week when we go grocery shopping I plan on picking up Jello Vanilla and Chocolate Pudding for mine and Charlie’s snack. As well as Tapioca and Butterscotch for David.
