In our home Summer has always been a season that brings back so many memories. When I think about summer, I don’t just think about big vacations or expensive outings. Some of my favorite memories come from the simple things—spending time together, enjoying a meal around the table, laughing outside, watching a movie, or finding a way to make an ordinary day feel a little more special.
Here at TheMommiesReviews.com & Grateful Moments, I believe some of life’s sweetest blessings are found in the moments we create with the people we love. For my family Summer can get busy quickly. Does it for your family? There is work schedules, kids being home, errands, and everyday responsibilities, sometimes we look up and wonder where the season went.
That is why I wanted to create a simple Summer Memory Maker Bucket List to encourage families to slow down, enjoy the little things, and make memories together. The best part is that creating summer memories does not have to cost a lot of money. You don’t need a huge vacation or an expensive activity planned every week. Sometimes the simplest ideas become the ones our families remember the most.
Making Summer Memories One Simple Moment at a Time
Some of our favorite summer moments can come from things we already have at home. A backyard afternoon can turn into a special memory. A simple family meal can become a tradition. A walk outside, a game night, or a homemade treat can give us time together that we might not have made otherwise.
This summer, consider making time for things like:
- Enjoying a picnic outside when the Moon is high in the Sky
- Having a family movie night and you don’t need expensive equipment use your tablet or computer to show the movie on
- Playing a backyard game of tag or horseshoes
- Making a favorite summer recipe that is kid friendly and can be eaten with your hands.
- Spending an evening watching the sunset and looking for Stars
- Visiting a local park you’ve never been to
- Reading a book together as a family and don’t forget to invite your friends and family
- Taking pictures of everyday moments because they only happen once
The goal is not to complete a list perfectly. The goal is to look back and realize that you made time for the people and moments that matter most.
Family traditions do not always have to be big events. Some traditions start with something very simple. Maybe it is having pizza night on a certain day, taking a yearly photo, visiting the same place every summer, or making a favorite dessert together. These small moments become the stories we tell later. As our families grow and life changes, those memories become even more precious.
To help your family enjoy the season, I created a free Summer Memory Maker Bucket List Printable. You can print it out and hang it on your refrigerator, keep it in a family planner, or use it as a reminder to find joy in the everyday moments. Inside the printable, you will find ideas to inspire family fun, space to record favorite summer memories, and a place to write down something your family is grateful for this season.
