Through the use of images and descriptive texts, examine planes of all kinds and learn about the History of Aviation from balloon travel through space travel.

When you are finished exploring the exhibits, click on “Videos” in the top menu to view archived videos of events, Aerobatics, Instructional Videos for Building and Flying Planes, and an interesting video series called “Timeless Voices” which provides first-hand accounts of flying during combat and other various circumstances.

Kids’ Castle

Enter Kids' Castle

Grades 2-8, with parental supervision

Gather the kids around the computer to embark on a tour of a virtual castle! The castle at this site is animated, but it is Historically accurate and based upon Nottingham Castle as it existed in 1480.

When you get to the site, click on the drawbridge to enter. A new page opens showing a map of the castle. Click on the banner, “Kids’ Castle” to read the key to the “shield symbols”. Then, as you tour each section of the castle by clicking on a section of the map, you will see those shields pop up offering activities, more information, games, clues to puzzles and other interesting ways to further your learning about castles, and the lives of the people who lived in and around them.

This tour provides a great unit study all by itself, and a terrific way to enhance knowledge about heraldry, knights, and more.

At this site, you can take a short virtual tour through text and photographs to see how peanut butter is made. Under the “For Kids” link, learn “The Story of Peanuts” and have some “Nutty Fun” with activities, puzzles, and recipes.
