MyVocabulary.com – Constitution Day



Age Range: 9 and up (Grades 4 and up; children with parental supervision) This website is offering free activities to boost students’ vocabularies and knowledge of history in anticipation of Constitution Day, Columbus Day, and Election Day.

When you get to the site, you’ll find interactive: word searches, crosswords, matching games, quizzes and more that include 229 vocabulary words themed around the U.S. Constitution.

Age Range: All (All grades; children with parental supervision) LoudLit.org pairs great literature with high quality audio performances that you can read and listen to online or download to your device for free.

When you get to the site you’ll see the new and featured literature selections along with a menu of novels, poetry, children’s stories, historical literature, and short stories that include titles such as:

Age Range: 8-16 (Grades 4-10, with parental supervision) MyVocabulary.com offers over 2,500 pages of a variety of free, interactive vocabulary development and enrichment activities including lesson plans, word searches, crossword puzzles, and quizzes.

When you get to the site, you’ll see a menu in the center of the screen that includes: 

  • Root Word Lesson – Get multiple lesson plans for various grade/difficulty levels that include practice exercises such as fill-in-the-blanks, match-games, crosswords, word finds, true/false and word stories.
  • Subject Puzzles – You’ll find calendar-themed vocabulary puzzles for holidays and events such as Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and more.
  • Subject Word Lists – Access hundreds of “A-Z” word lists by subject including animals, books, business/economics, fine arts, history/social studies, math, science, religion, sports, and general interest (from “accessories” to “Yellowstone”). Use them to help students learn the definitions of new words, or as story-starters, or to identify parts of speech.
