Hunting for the Hidden Beatles Mural in Fort Worth’s Riverside Arts District

Attractions

David was off yesterday so David and I choose to explore a couple locations near us. Including Riverside Arts District off Sylvania and Race Street. When I headed to Fort Worth’s Riverside Arts District, I had one mission: find the Beatles mural.

David and I assumed the Beatles mural would be easy to spot. After all, a mural honoring one of the most famous bands in history should be right out in the open. That wasn’t the case even after pulling up Google for directions to the mural we still couldn’t find it.

My husband and I followed the directions and drove through the district, but we couldn’t find the Mural. We searched for nearly fifteen minutes and were beginning to think we had missed it entirely. As we prepared to leave, my husband turned down a side street and suddenly spotted the Beatles mural.

There it was. Bigger than life. All 4 Beatles. I love how the mural made me feel I could reach out and touch each of the Beatles. All that was missing was Beatles music playing in the background. But there is a ol’ fashioned vintage record store we will be back to visit to see if they have the poster for sale.

Unlike some of the other murals in the district, the Beatles mural is tucked away on the side of an empty building rather than along the main thoroughfare. That hidden location makes finding the Beatles mural feel more like a treasure hunt than a sightseeing stop.

The mural features all four Beatles, each displayed in a colorful square of their own. Bright yellow, orange, red, and blue backgrounds help each Beatle stand out. The bold colors and pop-art style make the mural fun to photograph and easy to appreciate once you finally discover it.

What I enjoyed most was that finding the mural became part of the experience. Sometimes the best adventures happen when things don’t go exactly as planned.

The Riverside Arts District is filled with public art, local businesses, restaurants, and community pride. While the Beatles mural may require a little extra effort to locate, music fans and mural lovers will find it worth the search.

If you visit, don’t give up too quickly. The mural may be hidden, but that’s part of its charm. While visiting the Beatles mural stop for lunch and then meander through the area and check out the other Murals they have for photo opportunities.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
