JUDY BLUME FOREVER

I received a screener link to watch JUDY BLUME FOREVER’

Last night David had left to go pick up dinner for himself and Charlie. While David was gone and Charlie was upstairs, I set down to watch Judy Blume Forever. As the movie began, I kept looking at Judy Blume and thinking how much she looked like my mother in laws neighbor Mary. As well as how they were pretty close to the same age.

The documentary started and I was drawn in and couldn’t help laughing at times thinking of what Charlie would have thought if he had heard her say masturbation. Or David for that matter. David and Charlie aren’t readers like Suzzane and I were. Who have read all of her children’s books and now plans on purchasing the adult books as well.

David came in one he finished dinner and watched the rest of the documentary with me. David said she looks like Mary. I said I know she does. David kept watching and said you no, I could see you and her being friends. I agreed with David. Both of us were amazed to find out she went to one of her readers graduations which shows you she is a down to Earth person.

I loved seeing Milly Ringwald and her learning about her kids and her husband’s especially George. As she discussed the books David and Charlie both said they had read the Fudge books and that they liked them, but they didn’t want to read Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret which I do understand.

I do want Charlie to sit down with me one day and watch Judy Blume Forever so he can see what all women had to deal with back in the time she began writing her books. If you’ve ever been a fan of Judy Blume this is one film, you need to watch as soon as possible them come with me to the movies to see Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret– Comes out April 27th in Theaters. A movie Charlie isn’t sure he will see but being the white knight David is he said he would go with me. Although, I am going to see if I can get my best friend from Elementary school to go with me because she is who I read the book with back in the day.

Just so you know you will be able to share things with your children they may have never seen like a phone you dial. As well as fashions and haircuts that may make them say on me. They will hear things they never think their parents would talk about or no. Come and join me and watch this amazing film and get to know this amazing Author and her friends and family.

About the Author

Judy Blume spent her childhood in Elizabeth, NJ, making up stories inside her head. She has spent her adult years in many places, doing the same thing, only now she writes her stories down on paper. Adults as well as children will recognize such Blume titles as: Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret; Superfudge; Blubber; Just As Long As We’re Together; and Forever. She has also written the best-selling novels Wifey; Smart Women; and, Summer Sisters. More than 75 million copies of her books have been sold, and her work has been translated into twenty-six languages.

She receives thousands of letters each month from readers of all ages who share their feelings and concerns with her.

Judy received a B.S. in education from New York University in 1961, which named her a Distinguished Alumna in 1996, the same year that American Library Association honored her with the Margaret A. Edwards Award for Lifetime Achievement. She has won more than ninety awards, none more important than those coming directly from her youngest readers.

She serves on the boards of the Author’s Guild, currently as Vice President; the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, where she sponsors an award for contemporary fiction; and the National Coalition Against Censorship, working to protect intellectual freedom. In Spring 2002, Judy was a spokesperson for the Cheerios “A Book for Every Child” literacy campaign which benefited Reading is Fundamental, America’s largest literacy organization. She is also the founder and trustee of The Kids Fund, a charitable and educational foundation.

Judy’s first book in the Fudge series, Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, was published in 1972. She is thrilled to be celebrating its 30th Anniversary with the publication of Double Fudge. Just as generations of fans have loved the Fudge books, generations of Judy’s family have inspired them. Thirty years ago, Fudge was inspired by her son, Larry, and now Double Fudge was written at the request of her grandson, Elliot.

Judy lives on islands up and down the East Coast with her husband George Cooper. They have three grown children and one grandchild.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
