Missing

Charlie, David and I went to the Media Preview for Missing last night at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Cedars 1005 Botham Jean Blvd, Dallas, TX 75215. The movie officially open on January 20th in Theaters around the world. If you would like to purchase tickets check out Alamo Drafthouse.

For me personally I kept going back and forth at to see Missing or not because I prefer comedies and romances more than phycological thrillers. Which is what Missing is. I knew David might enjoy Missing. David is always seeing movies Charlie and I want to see even if it is something he isn’t interested in. I wanted to surprise David and treat him last night.

We arrived at Alamo Drafthouse let me tell you it’s a lot bigger than it looks from outside. We walked in and checked in. We went upstairs to the bar. The waiter was kind and brought us glasses of water without being asked. Charlie ordered a Pepperoni Pizza and a Dr. Pepper to be delivered to our seats.

I liked in the Bar they had tabletop games we could play while waiting for the movie to begin. Being a Bar you would think kids wouldn’t be allowed but that isn’t the case because its also a restaurant. Its upstairs above the Theater and there is a balcony you can sit outside on and watch the Dallas Skyline which was so pretty.

We went back downstairs using the stairs so I could get steps in but if my knee had been bothering me I could have used the stairs. Charlie looked at the tickets and helped us find our seats. We sat down and I loved how they would lean back. Let me tell you the Theater did get a bit chilly. Thank goodness I had a blanket with me and a jacket David could borrow.

As we waited for the movie to began the waiter walked up and we gave him our ticket from the bar. He was so nice to go track down Charlie’s food. Once the Pizza arrived Charlie couldn’t wait to dive in. Although, when we return in the future I need to ask them how we get refills for our drinks because we didn’t know what to do.

I liked knowing the Soda and Popcorn are refillable which I will get the next time we come here to see a movie. David enjoyed looking over the Menu and seeing all the different Beers they have on Tap. I liked the Shakes and Cookies but I was good and didn’t order them as there not on my diet.

Missing began right on time. From the first few minutes you find yourself drawn into the storyline. Let me tell you its like being on a Roller Coaster .Don’t forget your seal belts because its a bumpy ride full of twists and turns. I liked how Missing touches on Mental Health which lead to many discussions with Charlie.

Being a teenager its not always easy to know what Charlie likes or doesn’t like but I can tell you he enjoyed Missing which he is still discussing today leading to new Homeschool Lessons for our family. As for David he also enjoyed the movie and even let the employees he works with know they should go and see Missing. As for me yes, I liked it as well even though it does get a bit violent and there wasn’t as much ooey gooey lovey duvey stuff I like as Charlie says.

We’ve decided as a family we would like to watch Missing again at the Theater. Then if Missing is released on Blue Ray or DVD we would like to purchase it for our in home library. Before we invite you into our home to watch Missing you need to see this movie in a big Theater so you don’t miss anything.

  1. Glenda, it does seem you had a double adventure, going to this movie event! The venue sounds great, especially their great attitude and the view of the skyline– wow. The movie sounds fascinating. I’ve thought a lot about how well we actually know anyone. So this may be a great movie for me!

    1. It is a good movie although it might not be for everyone.
The venue is fun although a tad far from us but allows
us to spend time talking as we drive back and forth
      Which is nice.
