Nasher Sculpture Center Announces Nasher Prize Month 2023. A Series of public programs and events bringing fresh insight to the work of the 2023  Nasher Prize Laureate, Senga Nengudi, from March 1 – April 2, 2023

Dallas, TX (March 2, 2023) – Nasher Sculpture Center announces a series of public programs celebrating the work of the 2023 Nasher Prize Laureate Senga Nengudi, from March 1 to April 2, 2023. Several free, scholarly public events will take place which are part of Nasher Prize Dialogues, the discursive platform of the Nasher Prize that is intended to foster international awareness of sculpture and to stimulate discussion and debate. Additionally, family activities and resources will specifically engage students and families, including free general admission and family activities during spring break, from March 15-19.

Four works that represent Nengudi’s long and rich career, on loan from various collections and the artist’s gallery, will be on view through April 30, highlighting essential elements of her contribution to sculpture.

In its seventh year, the Nasher Prize is the most ambitious international award in sculpture, established to honor a living artist who elevates the understanding of sculpture and its possibilities, granted along with a $100,000 cash prize. The American artist Senga Nengudi was selected for this year’s award by an international jury of museum directors, curators, artists, and art historians who demonstrate an unparalleled expertise in the field of sculpture.
