Puppy Love: An Illustrated Guide to Picking Your Perfect Canine Companion

Puppy Love: An Illustrated Guide to Picking Your Perfect Canine Companion by Melissa Maxwell (Author), Sara Mulvanny (Illustrator) in exchange for this review.

Charlie and I have all the dogs we can have at the moment. If things change, we will be prepared to find our new dog thanks to Puppy Love: An Illustrated Guide to Picking Your Perfect Canine Companion. Which takes us on a doggy dating profile including a quiz that will make sure we are doing the right things.

I love how there is a description for the dogs allowing Charlie and I to learn more about dogs we hadn’t heard of or seen. As well as what items we will need when adopting a pet including a seat harness for when your bringing your baby home. I love how the author gives us a list of places to find our furbabies at.

Charlie can look up and we can go visit for a Homeschool Field Trip when we began studying dogs. As well as visiting our local dog shelter to see dogs up close and to learn what goes into grooming and walking them. The book helps us set the age range of the dog we are wanting. The author uses labels to help us learn more about the dogs including small or large.

Charlie and I learned about Brussels Griffon which we hadn’t heard of. Have you? There is information on Basset Hounds David’s dream dog. English Bulldog which Charlie would like to have. Did you know there is also a American Bulldog and through the story you will be able to learn what is different about them.

They have a description for a German Shepard which was what Suzzie had and his name was Sam Tigger Ice and he was a rescue dog. There is a description for Cocker Spaniel which is what Granny Sherry used to have and I used to want one. There is a description for a Beagle which is what my nephew had when he was growing up.

Charlie liked learning more about Chihuahua because Charlie’s dog is a Chi-Weenie. Then there was a description for a Great Dane which would be fun to have expect he would take over my apartment because he is so big. I also found a description of a Saint Bernard and it was fun to find out the facts they shared with us is true because before Suzzie passed away, I had a Saint Bernard.

All in all Puppy Love: An Illustrated Guide to Picking Your Perfect Canine Companion is a reference book. To help adults find out which dogs would be perfect for their families. Children and adults as well will enjoy all the illustrations included in the book. As well as all the facts they will learn as they choose which dog is perfect for them.
