Small Murder Mystery Event company goes virtual!

Small Murder Mystery Event company goes virtual! I want to get tickets for Charlie, David and I to attend one of the shows which we can use as our Homeschool class.
Red Herring Games

After nearly 6 weeks of lockdown – the award winning murder mystery firm Red Herring Games has gone global with their series of virtual interactive murder mystery events.

Where many small theatre groups are closing their doors, thanks to Zoom,  Red Herring Games are seeing a surge in customers as they move the best of their interactive murder mystery entertainment online!

“We’ve been blown away by how popular our virtual events are.”  Managing Director Jo Smedley said.  “Our customers love them and we have a regualr following already who can’t wait for the next show!”

10 more events are planned in the next 3 weeks, as the small murder mystery firm has caught the eye of the big ticket vendor FeverUp who are now listing 8 different shows spanning UK and USA audiences and Red Herring Games themselves expand their availability into the Australian time zone after several requests from their customers downunder.

“It’s a very surreal experience hosting the events without a live audience.  But at our last show we brought over 30 audience members up onto the virtual stage and many of them were in costume – which just goes to show they’re making the best of the lock down and recreating the exprience at home!” Jo said.

With household tickets available at just £6 (or $6) it would be a crime to miss out!

“Ticket numbers are capped at around 500 for each performance and we’ve had a sell out every time we’ve run a show so far.” Jo said.

For a small company who usually hosts events for around 80 people with a meal, this jump to 400+ ticket sales at each virtual show has not been easy.

“We’ve spent a few weeks refining how things work.” Jo Smedley said.  “It’s been a massive learning curve to get used to the technology – but we wanted to support our actors during this difficult time – and actors love to act – so we needed to find a way to enable that.”

Profits from all ticket sales are being shared equally with all the actors involved.

THE STORY SO FAR
Deep in the heart of Indian Territory lays the frontier town of Tombstone.  As the centre of the gold rush and a staging post for coaches, prospectors and settlers, Tombstone is a vibrant happening place.  At its heart stands the Crazy Horse Saloon; a watering hole for dusty cowboys, gunslingers and card-playing mavericks.

With a swaggering Sheriff and a crack shot Deputy to keep the peace, the town is relatively safe as settler towns go. However, this evening, Wyatt Burp, the Deputy, is found dead up on his claim on the outskirts of town and the Sheriff is looking for answers.…

We hope you’ve got your own posse assembled ready to join in!

If you haven’t gathered a team yet, then tell your friends to grab their gun, checkered shirts and cowboy hat and sling themselves into the saddle!  They better be quick about it if they want to join you – our events sell out fast!!

What will you need on the night?

You don’t “need” anything – but you may want to have:
– a notebook and pen to hand
– some snacks and drinks
– a posse of your own to help you solve the case.  Whether it’s just your family, or a group of friends on another video chat.

Remember – Zoom gets a bit cranky if you try to do too many things at once at the same time – so it’s a good idea to assemble your posse on another group ap e.g. Facebook messenger, houseparty, or whatsapp or have another member of the family signed into their zoom account separate to yours so you can discuss the case between all your friends as you as you go along.

If you think you’ll want to ask a question live – make sure you know how to work your webcam and have an operational mic.

How long will the evening last?

We’re aiming to wrap up within 2 hours.  So make sure you give yourself enough time in to play and don’t have another place to be!

Tickets for the above events are now available to buy.

Spaces are limited so ensure you book quickly.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
