I was sent a copy of Stormless: A Thrilling Epic Fantasy Adventure of Warring Kingdoms, Formidable Summoners, and Ancient Mysteries by  Nick Stitle (Author) in exchange for this review.

Can you imagine the Author of Stormless being only 17 and that he has written two books. Charlie turns 16 around Christmas and I can’t even get him or David to open a book. Much less read or write a book. As for me I can’t stop reading and one day I would like to write and publish Suzzane’s story even if I am the only one who would read the book.

Let me share my thoughts with you on Stormless

Stormless is a Action packed fantasy/ Suspense book that keeps you on the edge of your seat from page one. Charlie read Stormless for his Homeschool Reading Class and learned about the 3 character’s and can’t wait for more books in the series to come out. Now David has started the book and it’s fun to hear Charlie and David discussing the storyline which I already know because I finished the book before giving it to Charlie.

Stormless isn’t the genera I usually read but being written by a 17-year-old captured my attention and I thought Charlie and David would enjoy the plot line and reading the story would bring us closer together which is did. I’ve added the Author to our must have reading list and will be purchasing other books in the series for Charlie and David.

. The three main characters are well-crafted, complex individuals that feel very real from the moment we meet them. The world the Author created seemed unreal at first, but the author did a wonderful job of explaining Auris in a way we can all relate to. Charlie and David enjoyed the way the three storylines, while separate at first, all came together unexpected way. The cliffhanger ending left me wishing I had book two on hand to dive into. I would recommend Stormless to anyone who enjoys a suspensful fantasy book full of intrigue and mystery from Middle School and up.

About:

The world you are about to enter is very different from the one you know.

Auris is a place of storms and chaos where seven violent Tempests rule the land, wreaking havoc across the continent. Only the Summoners, bearers of powers not unlike those of the divine Tempests themselves, have the strength to stand against the tyranny of the storms. Society depends upon the enigmatic Summoner-empowering Crystals for survival… Yet when a Summoner bearing powers that should not exist appears on Arvendon’s doorstep, the world begins spiraling into chaos

Castien Varic, a common soldier, finds himself in the throes of a coming war. He embarks on a mission with the most legendary of Auris’s Summoners, hoping to discover the truth behind the resurfacing of the Ancient Summoner.

Faelyn Titansworn, heir to the largest of Auris’s empires and one of the most powerful Summoners in the world, finds himself lost in his father’s shadow. When a conspiracy threatens to destroy all that he knows and loves, Faelyn takes it upon himself to save not just his kingdom, but all of Auris.

Asteros Silverglade bears the powers of a god. Two years in the past, he, along with five others of his Sect, uncover the hidden secrets that the world has tried to erase. Yet they soon learn that the mysteries of the baffling event known as the Vanishing—the war that somehow caused over half of Auris’s Summoners to disappear without a trace—run far deeper than they could’ve ever imagined.

These three heroes walk the threads of fate, together weaving an epic tale of magic, war, love, and loss. Together these individuals will forever change Auris’s future. Empires will shatter, Tempests will be Unbound, but destiny will prevail as these heroes face their fated ends.

This is Stormless.

About the Author: Nick Stitle

Nick is just seventeen years old. He lives in Indiana with his mom, dad, older brother, and two dogs. While Stormless is his first “real” book, it is far from the first story he has told.

He has always been fascinated with reading, and once he began middle school, he thought he’d try writing. As he learned and grew as a student, his writing also improved. He connected with other readers and writers in his grade, compelling him to work even harder on his writing.

He juggled tennis, golf, writing, and reading throughout middle school and built an impressive academic resume. And, of course, he always loved (and still does love) to kill a few hours on PlayStation gaming with friends. However, beginning in high school, he started to take writing more seriously. After finishing his freshman tennis season, which would ultimately be the only season he played in high school, he began formulating a new story.

Fast-forward nearly a year, and after spending all Summer relentlessly working on his tennis skills, injuries forced him to stop. He soon realized, however, that this was an opportunity to begin working on the project he had been so carefully putting together in his head. And so, starting in the fall of 2021, he began writing Stormless. He woke up early every day to work on the project before school, and by May, he was finished. He was paired with an editor on Reedsy, and after spending the Summer working with her and revising his work, Stormless was nearly complete.

Since then, he has begun working on a new, untitled project while continuing to tighten up Stormless. He has recently started a Social Media account to connect with other writers! He doesn’t plan to stop writing stories, writing is his passion, and his dream is to one day share his stories with readers around the world.

Even with Stormless books one and two nearly completed at seventeen, this is still a lofty goal. Still, his journey as a writer is just beginning.

TEEN AUTHOR LAUNCHES EPIC FANTASY SERIES TO RAVE REVIEWS Nick Stitle Publishes Stormless at Age of 17

“A fine introduction to a new fantasy setting that’s likely to leave readers eager for more.” – Kirkus Reviews

Indianapolis, IN, April 20, 2023 – Inspiring 17-year-old author, Nick Stitle, is launching his first book in a four-part series called Stormless  (May 17, 2023; $17.99 US; ISBN 979-8-9878962-1-1; softcover; 513 pages). The Young Adult epic fantasy novel has already received positive accolades from both Kirkus Reviews and NetGalley readers.

Stitle started Stormless at the age of 15 and woke up early every day to write before school, creating a new fantasy world and crafting characters he could relate to. After rounds of vigorous professional editing and valuable advice from industry experts wanting to help a young author, Stitle completed book one of the Stormless serie sat the age of 17.

The story takes place in Auris, a world of storms and chaos where seven violent Tempests rule the land, wreaking havoc across the continent. This first book in the series follows three heroes who walk the threads of fate, weaving an epic tale of magic, war, love, and loss. Together these individuals will forever change Auris’ future. Empires will shatter and Tempests will be Unbound, but destiny will prevail as the protagonists face their fated ends.

Castien Varic is a soldier and a Stormless – someone without magic – on an expedition for the King. He battles with intense anxiety and panic attacks while striving to complete his mission. Prince Faelyn Titansworn disagrees with his father, the King, about the dangers Auris is facing and must decide where his loyalty lies. Meanwhile, two years in the past, Asteros Silverglade is uncovering secrets behind the mysterious Vanishing that wiped out the Ancient Sects and created the Tempests. The paths of the three protagonists converge in an exciting cliffhanger, setting the stage for the next book in the series.

More than one character in Stormless struggles with mental health issues, and Stitle does not shy away from the subjects of depression, anxiety, and panic attacks. He hopes his readers can see themselves in his characters and realize they are not alone. Stitle’s heroes are not perfect, implausible personalities but more complicated, interesting humans.

“I created my characters as flawed, complex individuals, and many face both internal and external struggles. Although fictional, I hope the themes in this book resonate with my readers, and they feel seen,” explains Nick Stitle.
