Teen Dating

This week David and Charlie took one of his friends into stay with us because he had been living in a car. No, 15-year-old should have to do that ever. Especially when the mom is in the picture and there is an aunt and a grandfather that have homes and could take the kids into their homes. Although, W and his grandfather butted heads they could have gotten help for the child and safe place to live.

I am grateful Charlie and David asked him to stay with us. he has been going to school and helping with chores. As well as walking our dogs. David and I purchased clothes for him because he didn’t have school clothes or clothes for court. Which thank the LORD went really well and all he got was a slap on the hand.

From staying here, he has been opening up to me and talking to me about things happening in his life. Yesterday Charlie and his friend wanted to discuss there friend B’s girlfriend and also his brothers. They let me know these girls want to be boys and how one of the girls wants to alter her body by cutting off her breast.

As I listened to Charlie and his friend my heart broke. How can a teenager know they want to do this to their body? Once it’s done would they be happier or would it make more problems. Does this make B and William’s brother gay or Bi-Sexual as a parent I have so many questions and I know the boys do as well.

I look at Charlie and remember being in a store a couple months ago when a friend asked me if Charlie portrayed himself as GAY. As a mom I want to say no, he doesn’t. Charlie just likes to be himself but then in the back of my mind I ask myself if he could be Gay. Even though Charlie says he isn’t.

For me it wouldn’t bother me one way or the other as he is my son and I love him more than anything. But a couple weeks ago when Charlie found a girl, he liked I let his grandmother know. Granny Sherry said at least it’s a girl not a boy. Why would a grandmother say that. Does she know something I don’t know?

LORD, please wrap my son is your arms as we navigate these teenage years, and he comes into his own. From piercing his ears which I didn’t think he should do. To perming his hair as well as coloring it from time to time. Necklaces that were mine in memory of my mom and his sister which he wears. To the clothes he wears which could make him a model.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
