Chili has always been a staple in my home especially Wolf Brand Chili because I can find it on sale a lot of times. Growing up we always used brick Chili. When David and I first got together I made dinner for us using Texas Chili and not that is our go to Chili. Even a Chili Gerald doesn’t fuzz about and Charlie will eat.
Chili allows us to create meals that don’t just feed a moment—they stretch themselves across days, quietly becoming part of the rhythm of a household without needing anything fancy added to them. One box of Chili feed three people multiple times saving us money while allowing us to #Cookonceeattwice.
The Texas Chili Company is a Old-Fashioned Beef Chili, and it is a Texas tradition since 1952. It contains Valley recipe No. 1, and the Chili comes in a 16-ounce box that feels simple at first glance. It’s not trying to be trendy or reinvent anything. It’s just chili the way it’s meant to be—straightforward, hearty, and built for real meals instead of overcomplicated ones. My family likes that the chili is all meat based with no, beans.
What makes Texas Chili stand out isn’t just the first serving, but what happens after. In this case, it became one of the kinds of meal that families know well. The first bowl was the main moment, but the second and third didn’t feel like leftovers in a disappointing way—they felt like continuation.
By the next day, there was still plenty left, which is where the chili shifts from a single dinner into something more flexible. Lunch becomes easy without needing planning. Another bowl is already waiting if you want it. And if you want to stretch it even further, there’s that familiar combination sitting in the kitchen: Fritos, shredded cheese, and even hot dogs ready to turn it into something different without changing what it already is at its core.
Texas Chili becomes less about a packaged product and more about what it supports—a full extra day of meals without stress, without overthinking, and without waste. Texas Chili is quick economical and can be made in so many ways that everyone can make their own meals. David & Gerald have Chili Dogs, and I had a Frito Pie the first day and a Chili Dog the next day with and without a Bun with Mayo.
There’s something comforting in that kind of food. It doesn’t ask for attention. It just stays ready, quietly holding its place in the fridge until you decide it’s time again for Texas Chili and remember its Summer and Grilling Season so you will find Texas Chili inside our Summer Gift Guide.
