Twisted Root Burger Co.

Charlie, David and I were in Old Town Lewisville this past weekend to see Peter Pan a Musical. While in Old Town Lewisville we knew we wanted to eat dinner. We strolled through the Town we passed several restaurants we had seen earlier in the year when we visited Old Town Lewisville Wild West Days.

I remembered seeing Twisted Root Burger Co. I wanted to eat outside in the Metal Buildings only the day we were there it was to cold for use to sit outside. Although my son Charlie decided Twisted Root Burger Co. was where he would like to have dinner. I asked Charlie why and he said he would like a Hamburger.  

Charlie and I thought it was funny when Twisted Root Burger Co gave us a sign so they would know where to deliver our food to. The funny part was they gave us the Big Bad Wolf. Charlie and I thought    Big Bad Wolf fit our family perfectly. There are days when David reminds us of the Big Bad Wolf. If you knew David you would agree with us.

We walked in I picked up a Menu to go over before we went up to the Counter to order. While I placed our order Charlie went to sit down because Charlie had hurt his foot. Which Charlie wanted to rest for a bit.

I ordered Charlie a Kids Burger. The Kids Burger being so small and that being all Charlie eats I will order Charlie a regular size Hamburger next time. Or two kids Hamburgers depending on which Hamburger Charlie wants.

Charlie asked for his Kids Burger to be plain. Once the Kids Burger arrived Charlie added Ketchup and Mustard to the Cheeseburger. Charlie let me know he was glad Twisted Root Burger Co. had American Cheese because it’s his favorite. Charlie liked the taste of his Kids Burger and said he might need another one. Although I couldn’t finish all of my Hamburger so Charlie did.

David and I both ordered the all American which comes with double American Cheese & Bacon. I loved the taste of Bacon on my burger. The Bacon pieces were thick and juicy. I could’ve just eaten the Bacon and been happy.

I added Mayonnaise to my all American Hamburger which comes in packets. I asked for no Veggies although next time I will get Lettuce and Onion for more flavors on the side. Then if I don’t finish my Cheeseburger the Veggies wouldn’t deter Charlie or David from finishing my Hamburger.

The Meat was perfectly cooked and had a great flavor. The Patty weren’t to big or to small. I also liked that the American Cheese was melted on the Burger. My Hamburger Bun was soft and added a great flavor to my all American. David also liked his all American a lot and said the next time he comes he will ask for a Double Meat. Unless he tries lots-a-shroom.

I ordered Fried Onion Strings. David ordered Hand Cut Potato Chips. I loved the way both of our sides tasted except they had to much Salt on them. Because of all the salt David couldn’t eat either Side. Nw that we now they use to much Salt the next time we come we will just ask them to not Salt our sides. I was upset that we were charged extra for a side of Ranch because at most restaurants it comes with our Fries.

Charlie, David and I can’t wait to return to Old Twisted Root Burger because we would like to order a Milkshake. Although this time Charlie wanted to try out the Old Fashioned Soda Fountain and I had a Iced Tea. It was nice to see a Watermelon Tea. I can’t wait to share Watermelon Tea with my stepdaughter Leslie because she loves Watermelon.

David had a Beer and we were surprised to find a Full Bar you walk up to and order your drinks from. If  we hadn’t had Charlie with us David said he would have enjoyed sitting at the Bar watching TV. Knowing this the next time David and I go on a date I will bring David back for dinner.

Look who visited Twisted Root Burger Co I just wish I had been there when he stopped in because Charlie and David are huge fans of his show and I collect his cookbooks.
