Unique Holidays: April 24th, 2022

Welcome to our series sharing Unique Holidays: April 24th, 2022. Would you take a look at the Holidays being celebrated today and let me know which Holiday you most want to celebrate and why. If Suzzie were here we would wear Tiara today because she was a Princess but since she isn’t I will not celebrate International Tiara Day but you should.

As for Charlie he said he would be sitting out both holiday because tiara are for girls and there is no, way he is going to eat Snails and celebrate National Escargot Day. David also said he is going to sit out both Holidays but said I should get my tiara out from our Wedding because no, matter what anyone else thinks I am a Queen and deserve to be pampered today.

International Tiara Day

Ladies, do you know the feeling you get when you place a tiara on your head? For me it’s a wonderful feeling. How abour you. Do you feel like royalty! A tiara transforms you into the queen, princess or duchess hidden inside of every women or girl. If you do not come from nobility, you may never have had the chance to wear a tiara before today. Opportunities and events where a tiara is worn are few and far between which is why International Tiara Day was created, so we can experience wearing a tiara and how it feel. International Tiara Day is an annual holiday, so now you can wear a tiara at least once a year!

A Crown versus a Tiara

Did you know there are a few differences between a crown and a tiara. Both are encrusted with jewels and a tiara is a type of crown which is worn mostly by women. Crowns are circular, while a tiara is semicircular. Crowns cover the entire head and a tiara covers only the front part of the head.

How to Celebrate International Tiara Day:

  • Wear a tiara today and savorthe royal feeling that comes from wearing a tiara.
  • With a tiara firmly affixed atop your head, make royal proclamations which can be big or small.
  • Today is the day to research your family roots, to see if any royalty is in your family tree.
  • Pamper yourself and your daughter and give yourselves the royal treatment at a beauty or nail salon.
  • Visit a spa and get the works.
  • Give a tiara to a young girl you know, and watch them smile!
  • Go to a high end restaurant and if you order a Steak, we suggest the order the “queen” cut.
  • Purchase new clothes or jewelry that is befitting a person of noble stature.
  • With your tiara on your head, go online and read about the Queen Mum.

History and Origin of International Tiara Day:

This holiday was created in 2005 by Barbara Bellisimo of “Seasons of Success”. The Holiday was created as an international event, so women and girls around the world can feel like royalty. According to the creator International TIara Day “empowers women to change their worlds, and to embrace their inner beauty.

The date of May 24th was chosen, because it is the birthdate of Queen Victoria of England who reigned as Queen, beginning at the young age of 18 and Queen Vidtoria ruled for 64 years, from 1837, until her death in 1901.

National Escargot Day

It’s National Escargot Day. Everyone should go out and eat Snails ie Escargot which is considered a delicacy by some. For many others, the thought of feasting on Snails or Escargot is just yucky.

The approved way of celebrating National Escargot Day is by eating a plate of Escargots. For those who can’t bring themselves and their stomachs to the table, we suggest to you give Escargot gift certificates to family.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
