National Forget-Me-Not Day is a day to remember family, friends, and loved ones.

People use this Holiday to get in touch with family, friends especially those who we haven’t seen in a while, because you don’t want them to forget you. This Holiday is intended to remember the living. But, some people have used Forget-Me Not Day to memorialize a loved one who is no longer with us.

Ways to celebrate National Forget Me Not Day:

  • Send Forget Me Not Day Ecards to everyone in your email address book.
  • Send Forget Me Not flowers to people you haven’t seen in a while.
  • Give Forget Me Not flower seed packets to family and friends.
  • Phone people you haven’t seen in a while and wish them a Happy National Forget Me Not Day.

Origin of Forget Me Not Day:

We did not find the creator of this Holiday and we didn’t find any factual information. which we find it strange, that the creator  has been “forgotten”.

We did find Organizations, Mayors and Officials who have proclaimed a “Forget Me Not Day” which they were declared for a wide range of reasons and were celebrated, largely as a one time event, on many different dates.

We did not find any documentation confirming this to be a “National” days and we found no congressional records or presidential proclamation.
