Every season has its own rhythm, and right now our family has a few things that are actually working — which feels like a miracle worth documenting. As we dive further into Day 10 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge which is about celebrating the small wins and sharing what’s helping us stay afloat.
What’s Working for Us Right Now
Evening walks Bear-approved. Pheobie-approved. My sanity approved at least some of the time.
Simple meals David has perfected the “30-minute dinner that tastes like it took two hours.” We’re not questioning it. Although if you were to see the kitchen you might think a Tornado touched down after he finishes cooking.
A clean-ish living room Not perfect. Not Pinterest. But walkable — and that counts just ignore the limp of coal on the couch ie Gerald.
My tablet for reading + reviews It’s become my portable office, my entertainment, and my brain organizer. As well as my tv when everyone in the house is using the others.
C’s new routine He’s been doing better with structure, and it shows. Small steps, big progress. Most of the time although like any of us he does backslide at times.
Review Moment
I’ve been testing a new budget-friendly tablet stand and let me tell you — it’s saving my neck and my patience. Having this stand allows me to sit down the tablet so I can make the reviews I enjoy sharing with you.
Gerald’s Contribution– “What’s working for me is when y’all cook enough for leftovers.” As well as only having Charlie her at night so I can sleep none of his friends and going in and out all night because I need my beauty sleep. Classic Gerald.
Remember in my home “what’s working right now” changes — and this is why I love sharing this information with you and bring me to my Porch-Truth Moment– Sometimes the things that work aren’t fancy. They’re simple. They’re doable. They’re real. Here is a Call to Action for you, your friends and family: What’s working for YOU right now Share your wins — big or small — in the comments.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
