I wanted to bring you another post which is Part of the Teen Grooming & Dad Reality: First Review Series featuring 🧴 Dove Men+Care Bourbon Vanilla + Hazelnut Body Wash I purchased at Walmart for Charlie after he let me know what grooming products I bought for him.
Some products surprise you in ways you don’t expect. A body wash usually isn’t one of them… until you walk into the bathroom and it smells like someone mixed dessert with a warm, clean cologne. That’s what happened with the Dove Men+Care Bourbon Vanilla + Hazelnut Body Wash.
For my family the scent was the first thing we noticed. It has a warm, slightly sweet profile that leans into vanilla with a nutty undertone that almost comes across like caramel when it’s in the shower steam. This body wash is not overpowering, and it doesn’t smell like cheap fragrance trying too hard. It actually feels balanced.
Charlie’s reaction was immediate. He liked it because it didn’t smell like “baby soap,” and he didn’t feel like he was using something meant for little kids. Charlie also said it didn’t smell like a women’s bath and body product which he was happy about.
That matters more than it should at his age, but anyone raising a teenager knows scent opinions can make or break a product. Even David commented on it without prompting, which is rare. That alone tells you it crosses generational approval in a way most grooming products don’t.
Performance-wise, it lathers well and spreads easily across the skin without needing a lot of product. It rinses clean without leaving a heavy or sticky feeling, which is something I always pay attention to with body washes because some of them leave that “film” feeling behind.
What stood out most, though, was consistency. Every time it’s been used, it delivers the same result. No irritation, no dryness, no complaints. Charlie even said, “I like this one,” and left it at that — which is basically the highest form of teenage endorsement available.
Would we buy Dove Men+Care Bourbon Vanilla + Hazelnut Body Wash again? Yes, because it is one of those rare products that works for both a teen and an adult without anyone arguing about it in the bathroom. Even Bradley liked the scent and used it to wash his hands and said he would like to purchase this for his home. Letting me know what to get Bradley for Christmas.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
