11:30 PM CST — Wine or WHyne Time

Families Parenting/ Families

Sometimes life doesn’t go as we expect as you can see from the title above which might or might not be spelled right. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t join me for Wine or Whyne Time.

Before you ask no, you don’t have to have a glass of Wine to join me. Bring your favorite beverage or nothing at all the main idea of tonight is to breath and spend time with ourselves just patting ourselves on the back for getting through today.

Yes, I’m on the balcony not on the front porch or back porch because the balcony is hard for people to get to. I’ve got my wine, so Charlie doesn’t know in a “Mommy’s Sippy Cup” glass. I’ve got my water bottle and my Sweet Tea Mason Jar with Milo’s Sweet Tea. I’ve got Phoebie sitting on the bed looking at me and Bear curled up beside me like he owns the night.

I’ve got my book open and my remote nearby. I’ve got my frog, my butterfly, my cross — all tucked in like little porch blessings. And I’ve got peace — even if it’s just for a moment. Thank the Lord for the peace which can change in the blink of an eye in my home.

This is Wine or Whyne Time. The time where I let go of the day. The time where I stop apologizing for being tired. The time where I say, “I did enough.” I didn’t get to the laundry mat. I didn’t clean the fridge. I didn’t answer every email. But I showed up. I fed people. I prayed. I laughed. I cried. I kept going.

And now I’m here — glass in hand, dog by my side, porch light on, stars above. I’m not fixing anything. I’m not solving anything. I’m just being. Come and join me this evening and just be you before someone needs us.

So if you’re out there, mama, sipping your own Sweet Tea or wine or water — I see you. You’re doing enough. You’re holding it together. You’re allowed to Whyne. You’re allowed to rest. You’re allowed to be human.

This is your balcony moment. Claim it. Sip it. Bless it. Thank the Lord for today and your family just as I thank the Lord for this Circus because these are my Monkes and yes, I do Love them most of the time. LOL

Thank yo,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
