“When Grace Meets Real Life”

Ultimate Blog Challenge

My shoulder began hurting about the time David was due home yesterday. I thought I was going to die. The shower didn’t even help. Sleeping was hard.

I woke up this morning and yes, my shoulder still hurts some but at least I can move it and type without breaking out in tears. I’m back at work this morning because when David gets off we have to go to Nicole’s so David can paint.

Some days in the Ultimate Blog Challenge feel like a smooth porch breeze. And then there are days like Day 6, where the wind blows sideways, the dog barks at nothing, C needs something for gaming right now, D is calling me from work asking if I know where the keys are to Charlie’s car, and I’m standing in the kitchen wondering why the dishwasher is running but still full of dirty dishes.

Welcome to Faith, Grace & Chaos, where we don’t pretend life is tidy — we just tell the truth about it.

Yesterday was one of those days where writing wasn’t going to happen at 6 AM, or 10 AM, or even 2 PM. It was a “write when the house finally stops hollering your name” kind of day. Or my shoulder got easy enough for me to type. And honestly, that’s the beauty of this challenge. It doesn’t ask for perfection. It asks for presence.

What Day 6 Taught Me

  • Grace doesn’t show up early. It shows up right on time.
  • Writing doesn’t require silence — it requires honesty.
  • A blog post written at 9 PM or midnight or the next day still counts.
  • And sometimes the story you planned isn’t the story God wants you to tell.

I had planned to write something polished and Pinterest‑pretty. Instead, I wrote this: Life is messy. Faith is steady. And writing is the bridge between the two.

What I Want Readers to Take Away

If you’re doing the Ultimate Blog Challenge with me, or even if you’re just trying to keep your head above water, hear this porch truth: You don’t have to be perfect to show up. You just have to show up.

And if you missed a day? You didn’t fail. You lived. Write about that.

Day 6 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge reminded me that grace doesn’t show up early — it shows up right on time. Yesterday was messy, loud, chaotic, and real… and that’s exactly what I wrote about. Come sit on the porch with me and read today’s truth.

Day 6 of the #UltimateBlogChallenge was pure chaos and pure grace. Writing late still counts. Showing up imperfect still counts. #FaithGraceChaos #MomLife #BloggerLife
