I was out f Coffee this week and didn’t want to go to Walmart and couldn’t find a bradn of Coffee I liked at Aldi. I was inside the Dollar Tree last night and I found Hills Bros Coffee Pods Medium Roast I decided to try for something new.
I remember as a child my parents always using Folger’s or Maxwell House but something they would get Hills Bros if it was on sale. Which is why some everyday items don’t try to impress you—they just show up, do their job, and unexpectedly carry more meaning than you expected. These Hills Bros coffee pods fall right into that category.
When shopping at the Dollar Tree, it seems we always find new things to pick up and that is where the Hills Bros Columbia medium roast blend in recyclable K-cup style pods came in last night. It’s a simple product, with nothing flashy about the packaging or presentation, but it delivers a strong, straightforward cup of coffee.
The first brew was stronger than expected. Not harsh, but bold enough to wake everything up quickly. It’s the kind of coffee that doesn’t ease into your morning—it arrives fully present. After adding cream and sugar, it softens into something much more familiar and balanced, the kind of cup you can settle into rather than push through.
What makes this coffee stand out isn’t complexity—it’s connection. It carries a quiet sense of familiarity, the kind that pulls memories forward without asking permission. The coffee feels like older mornings. Kitchens where coffee was already brewing before the day fully started. The background rhythm of households where coffee wasn’t a treat but simply part of life.
Finding it at Dollar Tree adds another layer of meaning. It’s not about being the cheapest option or the most premium. It’s about accessibility. It’s about the fact that something familiar can still be found in an unexpected place, at an unexpected time, and still carry the same comfort it always did.
A portion of these pods is also being set aside for a care package, for Charlie & Mikayla which turns an everyday item into something more personal. Something shared. Something that travels beyond one kitchen. Allowing Charlie a glimpse into my childhood.,
This was purchased independently and reflects honest experience.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
