I wanted to share more of our life for you to get to know us a little bit better. Let me welcome you to This is my circus this is my monkes and todays post is Blessings and Brew which is David’s drink of choice while mine is Milo’s Sweet Tea. What about you?
By 9 AM, the coffee’s gone lukewarm, the dogs have settled, and the bills have started whispering from not only from the counter but the phone and internet as well. The circus has shifted from breakfast chaos to budget reality — envelopes, calculators, and prayers all sharing the same space.
I sit down with my notebook and my favorite pen, the one that’s seen every kind of math: rent, groceries, gas, and grace. David’s text pops up — “Got plasma done. Dinners on me tonight.” You smile, because that’s love in real life: not flowers, but food and faith.
Gerald’s mumbling again, this time softer, like he knows the numbers aren’t kind today. C’s seeping and dreaming of chasing his own version of independence. And me? I’m balancing more than bills — I’m balancing hope.
The calculator clicks, the coffee reheats, and you whisper, “Lord, remind me that provision doesn’t always look like plenty.” Because sometimes grace shows up as just enough — not abundance, but survival with a smile.
I glance at the butterfly magnet on the fridge and remember: Even transformation starts small. Even chaos can be holy. Even this moment — bills, coffee, and prayer — belongs in the circle.
🙏 The Prayer
“Lord, thank You for the math that doesn’t make sense but still works. Thank You for the hands that earn, the hearts that give, and the faith that fills the gaps. Help me see blessings in the bills, mercy in the mess, and grace in the grind. Let this Monday remind me that provision isn’t always plenty — sometimes it’s peace. Amen.”.
