Being a mom is one of the hardest and most rewarding jobs around. I just wish I had appreciated my mom and my grandmother more when they were here. Instead I try and do that with David’s mom and to remind Charlie and David to spend time with her because one day she will be gone. Just as I will and why I try and spend time with Charlie one on one every day.

As I was missing my mom this morning I opened up Mom Enough to browse through while we were waiting on the Pizza Charlie was cooking. I began to read the table of contents and found several chapters I couldn’t wait to read including section four- life is short and section seven- mom- truths… Which all moms love to share over and over and over again if you asked Charlie

I liked the authors information remining us we do not have to read this book in order or even all at once. The book is like a long lost friend who encourages us to put one foot in front of the other on the hard days. You can even read the same letter over and over. Because this book is to meet us right were we are and doesn’t judge. Which is a God thing for moms.

The book begins with a description of a “good mom” and boy did she hit the nail on the head. I enjoyed seeing the picture of the little boy and being reminded we are enough. She reminds us to do our best. To breathe which I tell myself a thousand times a day. Do you do this as well? Were reminded its okay to feel discouraged at times.

We find out were not the only mom who worries. At the end of the book is a happy mom pledge I plan on sharing with all of my girlfriends once I give them a copy of Mom Enough for them to read on there own. Or we can start our own book club and read and discuss the book together. Would you like to join us?
