The Reality of Being a Content Creator: The Back Office Never Stays Empty

The Mommies Reviews

When I first started blogging I never thought about adding drafts to the back office to use when I didn’t have anything to wrote even though my friends who blog would have loads of content to us. In the past year I’ve relized that going through our phone daily and our day can lead to not only days of content but months as well.

I thought I would take the time this morning to share the reality of being a content creator: and how my back office never stays empty because not only doesn’t my life slow down neither does my mind at times. In the past 3 days I’ve gotten over 40 drafts down and added to the back office and this is a Godsend as we work to revamp the blog.

I know a lot of people who think about blogging, often picture the fun parts which there is but there is a lot of work to including the picture writing and the picture taking photos. Then there is sharing the picture and stories and connecting with readers and clients.

And yes, those parts are wonderful. But there is another side of being a content creator that most people never see. The back office. The behind-the-scenes work. The place where ideas become articles, articles become drafts, and drafts become something readers can actually find.

The funny thing about my blog is that I sometimes feel like I am trying to catch up, but every time I make progress, something new gets added. And you know what? That is not necessarily a bad thing. It means ideas are still coming. It means there are still stories to tell. It means the vision is still growing which is a Godsend.

A back office that never stays empty can feel overwhelming sometimes because there are articles waiting for images, posts waiting for SEO, drafts waiting for edits, and ideas written down before they disappear. But behind every piece of content is a reason it exists.

It could be a family memory or a helpful review. A lesson learned from myself or my friends and family. A moment of encouragement. A story someone else might need to read. That is the part people do not always see. They see the finished article. They do not see the conversations, the planning, the research, the organizing, and the time spent trying to make everything better.

Recently, I realized something important. Maybe I am not behind. Maybe I am building. Maybe the reason my back office keeps filling up is because I am creating more than I used to. Growth does not always look like a perfectly organized schedule. Sometimes growth looks like a full content calendar. Sometimes it looks like pages of ideas. Sometimes it looks like asking for help and investing in the tools and people who help move things forward.

The behind-the-scenes work matters. The small tasks matter. The organization matters. Every article starts somewhere. A thought. A conversation. A moment. A simple idea written down before it disappears. And over time, those little pieces become something bigger.

So yes, my back office may never stay empty. But maybe that is okay. Maybe an empty back office was never the goal. Maybe the goal was to keep creating, keep growing, and keep sharing the stories God places in front of me. And that is exactly what I am doing.

Thank you,
