Title: Grace by Grace, Room by Room: Hallway Challenge — My Hallway Snack Basket Organization Review

The Mommies Reviews

Our home is filled with little areas that make everyday life easier. As I continue working through the Grace by Grace, Room by Room: Hallway Challenge, I’m finding that even the smallest spaces have a story to tell. The hallway or stairway in my home may not be the first room people think about when they talk about organizing a home, but it is a space we walk through every day, and it can hold things that help support our routines.

In our hallway, I keep a snack basket that helps keep some of our everyday favorites close by. This basket is part of our family’s routine, especially as we work on making better choices, staying consistent with my water challenge and walking challenge, and keeping up with ,my diet goals.

One thing I love about having a snack basket is that it keeps everything together. Instead of searching through cabinets when we need something quick, we know where to find our snacks. It also helps us be more intentional about what we have available and food doesn’t get pushed to the back of the cabinet and forgot about.

Inside our basket, we keep a variety of crackers and snacks. that our family enjoys. We have individual packs of Ritz crackers, Town House crackers, saltine crackers, and Club crackers. I know your asking yourself why would someone need so many varieties of crackers and everyone has there favorite type of cracker and having individual portions makes it easy to grab a snack without opening a whole box, and they are convenient for busy days.

We also keep a jar of Jif Creamy Peanut Butter in our snack area usually but David picked up Crunchy Peanut Butter so this is what you will find in our snack area. This one has a funny family story behind it because David accidentally bought crunchy instead of my usual creamy peanut butter. Thankfully, we have creamy Jif downstairs, so now we have both options depending on what we are in the mood for.

That is one of my favorite things about our home — even everyday items can become part of our family stories. The Grace by Grace, Room by Room: Hallway Challenge is about more than just organizing. It is about noticing the blessings around us, appreciating the things we use every day, and creating spaces that work for our family.

This little hallway snack basket may seem simple, but it represents preparation, family routines, and the small choices we make each day as we continue our journey together. Would you like to join me for a snack and I have beverages in the Ice Box for us as we sit and visit.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
