Welch’s Grape Cranberry Drink Mix from Dollar Tree: A Simple Way I’m Making Water Easier to Drink

Beverages

The other day David and I were in Dollar Tree and I picked up Welch’s Grape Cranberry single drink mix packets because I’m always looking for small, practical things that make everyday life easier without adding cost or complication. I like knowing they were cheaper and would give me a different taste than the Crystal Light Fruit Punch we usually purchase at Walmarts.

Being over 60, and trying to lose weight, is one of the biggest ongoing struggles for me and if I was to tell the truth drinking enough water is hard for me. Were supposed to drink half our weight in water and for me that is over 100 ounces of water.

This gets expensive when we was purchasing bottle water because our water isn’t safe to drink. Then we found the Water Fountain and we can purchase enough water for over a week for less than $10 a week and that gives all of us as much water as we want.Along with enough Water to make Tea for Gerald.

Knowing how important water is which I hear it all the time, and I understand it completely, but plain water has never been something I naturally enjoy. I can drink water when I have to, but I don’t naturally reach for water the way I should. That makes staying hydrated something I have to be intentional about every single day. Are you this way as well?

At the same time, I’ve also learned that cranberry juice is often talked about as being helpful for things like urinary health and even supporting heart health and blood pressure awareness. Whether people use Cranberry Juice for those reasons specifically or just enjoy the flavor, it’s something I’ve always liked more than plain water. The problem is that juice is usually expensive, higher in sugar, and not something I want to rely on every day.

That’s where these little drink mix packets came in at exactly the right time. Each box has six single-serve sticks, and I usually find them for around $1.50, which makes them one of those rare things that feel both affordable and useful at the same time.

I liked learning each stick is only about five calories, with no sugar, no aspartame, and no synthetic colors. That matters to me more now than it used to, because I’m paying more attention to what I’m putting into my body without wanting to overcomplicate anything.

The flavor is a mix of grape and cranberry, and it lands right in the middle — a little sweet, a little tart, and light enough that it doesn’t feel heavy or overwhelming. I like how the drink package doesn’t taste like candy, and it doesn’t taste artificial in a way that makes me regret drinking it later. Welch’s Grape Cranberry just makes water easier to drink, which is really the whole point.

What makes Welch’s Grape Cranberry especially helpful in real life is how simple it is to use. There’s no measuring, no prep, and no thinking involved. I can keep a few packets in my bag, a few in the kitchen drawer, and even a couple in the car. When I need one, I just open a bottle of water or fill a tumbler with 16.9 ounces of water, pour in one stick, shake it, and it’s done.

One important detail that really makes a difference is the water ratio. Each stick is designed for about 16.9 fluid ounces of water, which is the size of a standard bottled water or a typical tumbler. That means one packet goes into a full bottle, not just a small glass. For me, that actually changes everything. Instead of constantly refilling or trying to track how much I’m drinking, I can finish one bottle at a time and know I’ve already made a good dent in my daily hydration.

That’s where Welch’s Grape Cranberry becomes more than just a drink mix. It turns into something that helps me stay consistent without feeling like I’m forcing myself to do drink it. I don’t have to think, plan, or struggle through it. I just drink the water I already need to drink, but it tastes better.

The interesting part is that I didn’t expect the rest of the family to like Welch’s Grape Cranberry drink packages too. I thought this would be one of those personal “health habit” things that only I used, but it turns out everyone reaches for these drink packages. That alone makes it feel even more practical because it’s not just sitting in a cabinet waiting for me. It actually gets used.

I’ve also started thinking about how versatile something like this could be beyond just daily hydration. In the summer, I can see these easily turning into popsicles. Just mix a packet with water, pour it into molds, and freeze them. It becomes a simple, low-cost treat without needing anything complicated or expensive. That’s especially helpful when you’re trying to keep things lighter during hot weather but still want something refreshing.

It also made me think about seasonal gifting. These would actually fit nicely into a Father’s Day gift basket. Not the typical gift people expect, but something practical and a little different. You could pair them with snacks, a water bottle, or other small items and build something useful instead of just decorative. It’s one of those small additions that feels thoughtful because it’s something someone might not think to buy for themselves, but would actually use.

What I appreciate most about this product is that it doesn’t try to be anything fancy. It doesn’t feel like a “diet product” or something overly marketed. It just quietly solves a real problem for me, which is getting enough water in during the day without feeling like I’m forcing it.

At the end of the day, that’s what makes Welch’s Grape Cranberry worth keeping around. It supports a simple goal in a simple way. No fuss, no overthinking, just something that helps me take better care of myself one bottle at a time. Would you like to have a glass with me?

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
