CROCHET ANIMAL RUGS

I love crafts and watching others create them because I am not good at making things. Although Charlie is homeschooling and we can use crafts as one of his classes as it would make art much more fun for Charlie.

I would like to share a new book with you called Crochet Animal Rugs written by Ira Rott and I wish I had known about the book when my children were smaller as I would have decorated their nurseries with the creations in this book. As my family is avid animal lovers.

With Leslie’s baby just turning one once they get there own home I will be sharing Crochet Animal Rugs with her as she can make some items for Elijah room as she loves to create and learn different crafts.

By sharing Crochet Animal Rugs with her I know what to get her for Christmas and I know which animal she would like to make as she let Charlie and I know Monkies are one of her favorite items so I can purchase the supplies for her and she can create the Monkey for Elijah.

When Les is done I want to ask her if she would make the elephant for my office and Charlie would like the dinosaur for his room and he can help Leslie create it as he can learn to crochet with Les giving them time together which they don’t usually get.

I love the illustrations and the step by step directions and seeing what the finished product would look like. As for the pictures in Crochet Animal Rugs, Charlie let me know it would be fun to frame them as they would make a nursery pop and be different from anyone else.

About the Author

Ira Rott is a knitting and crochet designer based in Canada. She began learning her skill from her mother and grandmothers when she was in middle school. This wonderful tradition has been passed on from generation to generation in Ira’s family and has become her passion through design. She loves working with yarn and other fibers to express her ideas. She sells her designs through Etsy and Ravelry, and her own website. This is her first book but I hope she creates more as I fell in love with both the book and the Author.

This is what Ira says about herself.

I’m a fiber artist and a pattern designer from Southern Ontario, Canada. I love working with yarns, textiles, and other materials to express my ideas. I also enjoy graphic design, which helps to enhance my patterns. Coming from a family of textile engineers, I was surrounded by fabrics and yarns from the time I was born, which made knitting, crocheting, and sewing feel natural to me. My first designs were created in the early 2000s when our youngest daughter was born. At the present time, I enjoy creating and writing fun patterns inspired by animals.
